Are you living life through screens instead of your senses? Do you ever feel like your body is slowly fossilising into your office chair? Has your comfort zone quietly become… a cage?
Time to leave the city. Time to head south. Out of Bristol, step by step, towards a place people have been walking to for thousands of years.
The bristol to glastonbury Survival Race is a two-day, team-based endurance challenge across Somerset, following old paths, quiet lanes and open country toward one of the UK’s most myth-soaked landscapes.
You’ll meet early on the edge of Bristol, where your journey begins.
When you arrive, your phone is sealed away.
For the next two days, the world narrows to your map, your team, and your own judgment.
From the first step, you navigate south using only a map and compass — leaving the city behind and moving steadily into farmland, levels and low hills.
You won’t know where the checkpoints are in advance.
They’re revealed one by one as the race unfolds.
At each checkpoint, you’ll face challenges — some physical, some strategic, some lightly absurd.
Crack them and you gain an edge.
Fail them and you fall behind.
This isn’t about speed.
It’s about awareness, teamwork, and staying calm when plans dissolve.
You don’t need to be an athlete.
You do need grit, humour, and a willingness to keep going.
“Challenging, fun, slightly eclectic, but so great to disconnect off the phone and re-connect with an slower, more analogue world (even just for a short time).”
Tom E, Bristol to Glastonbury finisher, June 2026
can i actually do this?
Probably, yes.
Since 2025, 850 people have taken on a Wolf Pack race, and most of them are not athletes. Our finishers range from first time campers and people who had never used a compass to a 65 year old.
It’s designed to be a proper challenge. Expect to walk between 30 and 35 miles over two days, carrying your own kit and finding your own way.
You’ll need to do some training, and we’ll help you prepare with a full kit list and guidance, whatever your starting point.
But what gets teams to Glastonbury is rarely fitness. It’s sticking together, keeping your sense of humour and putting one foot in front of the other.
“We weren’t racing, we were there to finish. If you’re on the fence, book it. If you’re a desk jockey like me, train for carrying the pack, not the miles. And take a good friend or sibling if you have one”
Ade N, Bristol to Wye Valley finisher, October 2026
The Route
You'll travel entirely on foot, navigating by map and compass.
Expect 30 to 35 miles over two days, a longer first day and a shorter second. A bit more if you get properly lost. The route takes you through
• Ancient woodland and mossy, winding paths
• Dramatic gorges carved deep into limestone
• Quiet valleys and hidden river crossings
• Stone circles, earthworks, and ancient monuments
• Old trackways walked for centuries before you
The landscape feels layered — wild, enclosed, then suddenly vast.
On Day 2, the land opens out and Glastonbury begins to pull you in, long before you arrive.
The Vibe
Think pilgrimage meets adventure race.
Like Duke of Edinburgh but for adults in a perpetual existential crisis. Bear Grylls meets Alan from The Hangover meets Wes Anderson.
A proper challenge, minus the macho, with a touch of analogue beauty.
You’ll laugh.
You’ll ache.
You might swear.
You might cry.
And when you reach glastonbury, you’ll feel something you haven’t felt in a long time.
This is Wolf Pack.
A medicine for modern life.
A story you’ll tell for years.
The CAMP
By late afternoon on Day 1, you’ll reach campyour own field on a quiet rural campsite, with a fire at its heart. Your base for the night.
There'll be:
A shared campfire beneath the trees
Hot drinks through the afternoon, evening and morning: tea, coffee, hot chocolate, and biscuits by the fire
A camp challenge (details classified)
A low-key acoustic set as the light fades
Stories and laughter with the other teams
Toilets and running water
A briefing before you set off on Day 2
Bring your own tent or bivvy, and your own mug. Carry what you need. Sleep under Somerset skies.
what you actually get

TEAMS
Wolf Pack is a team event.
You navigate together, solve challenges together, make questionable decisions together, and finish together.
Teams can be 2–8 people. We recommend 3–6 people for the best mix of navigation, morale, decision-making and snack-based emotional support.
Individual sign-ups are very welcome. We’ll place you in a team with other solo racers — which is often how the best Wolf Pack stories start.
Minimum age: 18+
“Around 120 of us set off as strangers but the team spirit, friendliness, encouragement, cooperation, laughter and sense of togetherness very quickly shone through.”
Paul D, London to Hastings finisher, May 2026
WHAT FINISHERS SAY
Rated 5.0 from 37 Google reviews.
"Completed exhausted but absolutely elated. Locking up my phone and navigating 30-plus miles of wild British landscape with nothing but a paper map, a compass, and a sense of humour is medicine for modern life. The checkpoint challenges are wonderfully absurd. The community with other teams on route and at the wild campsite is pure magic, and the support crew were exceptional. It is tough, you will be challenged, but the experience is hugely rewarding. If you want a real adventure that makes you feel human again, join the pack."
— Jo Bridle, Bristol to Glastonbury finisher, June 2026
"For anyone considering this Bristol to Glastonbury challenge, it is a demanding but deeply rewarding endurance experience. The incredible community spirit, especially the campfire and live singer at the campsite, and the stunning finish line make every single mile worth it."
— Elena F, Bristol to Glastonbury finisher, June 2026
"This could actually change your life. You'll go further than you thought possible. You'll say ‘I'm never doing this again’, and then the day after, ‘when are we going again?’. Just do it. If I can, so can you"
— Gareth Davis

good to know
Tickets are non-refundable, but you can transfer your place to someone else up to 10 days before the race. Just email us their details so we can set up their registration and tracking.
Can’t make it after that? If you need to withdraw in the final 10 days, let us know before the race starts and we’ll give you 50% off a future Wolf Pack race ticket, valid for 12 months.
If we cancel. If Wolf Pack has to cancel the race before it starts, you can choose a full refund, a place on a rescheduled date, or credit for another Wolf Pack race.
Weather. Wolf Pack is designed to go ahead in rough weather. Rain, mud, wind, discomfort and general British nonsense are all part of the adventure. But this is not bravado for the sake of it. If conditions become genuinely unsafe, we may shorten, adapt, reroute or delay the race at the Race Director’s discretion.
The campfire. Rain or shine, there’ll be a campfire. We bring dry wood and prepare for all weathers. Only a genuine safety reason, such as a fire ban or dangerous winds, would stop it.
Filming. This race may be filmed and photographed, and you may appear in the footage. If you would strongly prefer not to, let us know and we’ll do our best to keep you out of it.
Pocket money. This is a no-phone, no-money event, with one exception. You may carry up to £10 for a pick-me-up along the way.
